My good friend Lonnie here had simply given true information (including the Hubbard quote) and stated his opinion, which he is entitled to, and all you have done is proclaim his views incorrect and the result of propaganda.

I assure you, Anonymous has no need for propaganda, because Anonymous is not an organization. It is not a specific group. It is, in fact, everyone you know. It is you. When you act anonymously as part of a group effort, you have become Anonymous without so much as a thought on the matter.

Anonymous has no leaders. Anonymous has no goal. Anonymous is simply a mass noun used to describe those with the will to do something. Cowards? I invite you to pick a fight with the next group wearing Guy Fawkes masks. There is a fine line between cowardice and intelligence. Scientology is a cult defended by lawyers, so hiding our identity has become important. Are we afraid? No. But what better way to attack than in a way where a counter-attack is not possible?

Also, to say Anonymous as a whole has opposed Scientology would be an incorrect statement. There is many of Anonymous who encourages the cult’s actions against humanity, finding it amusing that so many cattle would go to the slaughter. It brings great joy to some Anonymous to see people throw away their wallets and embrace a religion created by a man who has been shown to know religion makes money. There are those of Anonymous who are indifferent, as well, occasionally getting a good laugh at the “church’s” squirming, knowing that they can’t use their only weapon (lawyers) against an anonymous gathering.

In short, the only one who has swallowed poisonous propaganda are those who dismiss proven quotes as lies. Enjoy your life. We’ll be laughing.

Neither of you take the time to actually go in and refute the claims (aside from the very weak defense on the topic of L. Ron’s quote) .. instead, you both move quickly to attack the people, and if I must say – that is a very classic response from Scientology members.

Rather than spending your effort trying to attack the individuals, why not spend some actual time providing some evidence that what “Anonymous” has to say is false? something tangeable? … After all, they seem to be able to provide a slew of documents from Scientology itself to back up what they say, and the response of Scientology is what? not to deny the documents are correct, but to litigate over copyright violation … Common sense would dictate that if the documents were false and the information incorrect, that COS would have no interest in filing copyright infringement suits..

So I invite you to write up an in depth article to refute some of the more common “poisoness propoganda” and will host it right here on this site for you, I will then invite the entire community to have their chance to fact check you.

The fact is that this quote has been rehashed into other forms, such as a rumor about a bet L. Ron made, which is false, so in that context it’s entirely false. Apparently it was said by Hubbard while speaking before the Eastern Science Fiction Association in Newark, New Jersey in 1947, it was then subsequently reprinted by Reader’s Digest.. you have people from the event claiming he said it… There is Sam Moscowitz who claimed Hubbard said it, and there are also at least a couple of other witnesses making the same claims…

“Whenever he was talking about being hard up he often used to say that he thought the easiest way to make money would be to start a religion.” — reporter Neison Himmel: quoted in Bare Faced Messiah p.117 from 1986 interview. Himmel shared a room with LRH, briefly, Pasadena, fall 1945.

“I always knew he was exceedingly anxious to hit big money – he used to say he thought the best way to do it would be to start a cult.” — Sam Merwin, then the editor of the Thrilling SF magazines: quoted in Bare Faced Messiah p.133 from 1986 interview. Winter of 1946/47.

So we have three people stating he said it this, and if not word for word, paraphrased … but meaning the same thing.

The church of scientology does deny it being said because L. Ron Hubbard denied he said it, and it doesn’t surprise me in the least that he would do that.. but with witnesses stating otherwise, it’s kind of hard to refute … instead, you say flatly it’s fake, but the best argument you can REALLY make is that it’s unknown for sure if he said it, witnesses say he did, he says he did not.. I personally tend to believe he did.

I don’t care if you “dislike scientology” but you do so because you gulped down poison propaganda and not because of your “research skills” or personal observation.
