Review – Distant Shore
by Lonnie on Mar.06, 2009, under iPhone
I was perusing the iPhone app store the other day and I came accross “Distant Shore”, which is a nifty little application.
The idea behind it is that you’re a person on an island, you wander around and collect shells .. that’s really all the interaction you have with the surroundings except for when you stumble accross a bottle, when you pick that up – you will find an anonymous message from other Distant Shore users .. What we have is an anonymous messaging app with style ..
Once you find 5 shells, you get your own bottle and you can send out an anonymous message .. if someone replies, you go back to your “hut” and find your turtle mailbox has something waiting for you .
It’s strangely addictive and I’ve met quite a few people on there that I message back and forth quite regularly with.. The graphics are very nice, and the ambient sounds of the waves are very relaxing … it’s a cool app to waste time with.
You can find it in the app store by searching for “Distant Shore”, it’s available for a buck ..
