i675 Crash Update – Brennan Eden Out of ICU, Doesn’t Remember Accident.

Update: Police found no evidence of drugs or alcohol in Brennan’s Body ( blood results from the morning he was taken to the ICU )
Update: Brennan commented ( see below ) and the post has been updated to it’s final state.
Sunday night I was informed by someone who’s a friend of the Eden family that Brennan was released from the intensive care unit at Miami Valley Hospital. This doesn’t mean that he will be released from care any time soon as I imagine his injuries are significant. What I do know at this point is that he has no brain damage which is a very excellent sign despite the fact that he doesn’t remember anything about the accident at this time.
Memory loss after such an extreme accident isn’t uncommon, Brennan may recover some memory from the accident, but the chances of him actually remembering enough detail to shed light on what happened seconds before going off the road are slim to none in my honest opinion.
There have been numerous theories thrown around about the cause of this near tragedy, such as:
- Brennan was attempting to commit suicide – False
- Brennan’s accelerator was stuck – False
- Brennan fell asleep - I accept this as what happened
- Brennan was drunk, high or both – Officially disproven ( see update above )
- Brennan thought he could out run the police – False
- Brennan was being chased by police – Officially disproven ( I was there )
At the end of the day, none of this can be proven as true without getting into Brennan’s head and without his memory of the events, I don’t think any of these theories will be proven or dis-proven any time soon.
So what do we know? all we know are the facts and the facts don’t really support a lot of the theories that have been tossed around..
Am I angry with Brennan? not at all .. not in the very least. I wish him a quick recovery, I wish the best for his friends and Family .. and I hope that one day we can all truly understand what happened.. but most importantly, I hope Brennan realizes just how lucky he really is.. he not only survived the horrific crash, he survived being ejected hundreds of feet.. AND .. came within 10 feet from me running him over.. so he should also thank the manufacturer of my breaking system :)

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen and it is divine intervention that this young man is alive and rehabilitating. He may remember someday, if not already, but he may not ever tell anyone. What I do not understand is how law enforcementlet him go after he has alochol/drugs and a minor in the car? I do not understand that at all. Most would have been arrested and their car impounded, here in Akron Ohio. I want to thank you for posting a follow up on this young man. My son and I were deeply affected by the news video that morning and I have been praying for him and his family ever since.

I find it unusual myself, but the blood work did show that he had no drugs or alcohol in his system ..
someone pointed out that it was near shift change for beavercreek police and that the officer may very have just not wanted to go through with all of the paperwork ..
I do hope he makes a full recovery, I’m shocked he lived the way he looked .. I was certain he was dead.. but he’s out of the ICU, out of the hospital .. and in a rehabilitation clinic .. hopefully he remembers at some point..

My guess is that he was asleep behind the wheel. His brake lights light up right after he goes airborne.
(If he was committing suicide, then why brake? If the accelerator was stuck, he would have braked sooner.)

Hi, thank you for all the kind things you said about me. Most things I read on the internet have not been very sensitive at all. I don’t remember the accident at all, but I am certain I didn’t do it on purpose like some people are saying.. I absolutely loved my car. It is likely that I fell asleep at the wheel & floored it with an exhausted foot.. I hadn’t slept all night & I worked the previous day. But I still am unsure. As for me being a bad driver.. my previous record was on an extremely rainy day & i had no traction control, stability control, or antilock brakes on that car, really difficult to drive in the rain with that. I did have a need for speed, but i dont even remember going fast the time I wrecked I am not sure how that happened. Thanks for stopping & not running me over. Much appreciation!

Glad to see you’re out and back home .. I’m not surprised you don’t remember anything.. I can only imagine how shocking the video was to see.. The video was posted by the news, and then went viral instantly without any facts being known so of course people had lots of opinions. I’m probably one of the more internet aware of the witnesses that were there so I replied where I could to squash what was obvious nonsense… the rest was unknown even to myself.
Falling asleep does make sense for what others have pointed out, not hitting the break pedal till the car was airborn.. Have you seen all the fences they’ve put up along 675 now? I don’t know about you, but I think had those fences been there before it might actually have been potentially worse..

I am so glad to hear that he is doing better. I watched it on the news and thought to myself man i know where thats at. I also read a lot of the posts about him and got very angry. I hate it when people have to throw their 2 cents in when they weren’t there and didn’t know what happened. Oh and I am so sorry that beautiful car didn’t make it, but glad he did

First i want to say how thankful he was not seriously killed. That being said, I am more thankful he did not kill anyone else. He is a horrible driver. Please, pray with me and hopefully he’ll see the light.
Oh Lord, please watch over Brennan so he doesn’t try to kill himself or anyone else on the streets again. Also, Thank you Lord for not letting that 15 year old be in the car. Please show Brennan the light of your ways, show him where a driving school is at so he can learn how to safely operate a motor vehicle. Also, please Lord, show him the statue in the Ohio code that has to do sex with a minor. Hopefully he’ll learn your word. Alcholo and drugs are not the path to the Heaven, so please show him the way. In your name Lord, Amen.

If you watch a good video of it, you’ll notice he didn’t hit the brakes at all, even as he approached the guardrail – that tells me (a guy who drives 150 miles EVERY day) that he fell asleep and didn’t realize what was happening. I almost slammed a state trooper at 83mph and actually thanked him because I was falling asleep AS HE WAS WAVING ME OVER outside of his car! I’ve said it all along, I think he fell asleep. God Speed Brennan!

I know what happened. He was driving over 100 mph like he ALWAYS does and was passing on the shoulder like he ALWAYS does when he noticed a cop in front of him. Freaked him out and distracted him just enough to make him drive off the shoulder into the grass. I know this cause he told me himself. Don’t believe none of his bullshit cause he’s gonna kill someone next time.

its obvious he was speeding and panicked when he saw he was passing a police car. that made him lose control and crash. if he was sleeping then he wouldnt have been able to press the brakes as seen in the video. This punk looks like a real scumbag. Im glad he didnt have that 15 year old girl he was molesting in the car during the crash.
