I was checking my e-mail the other day, an address that I barely use but I check it just incase someone writes there from years ago…  at any rate, I get a message from the “Federal Bureau of Investigation” wth the subject “Final Notification of Payment” and I think, uh oh .. taxes!  what was I to think? until I actually opened the message, when did the FBI start using e-mail address like this? .. here’s the message, and note the e-mail at the bottom is different:

Subject: Final Notification Of Payment

<Snipped out because it’s all trying to sound official… yadda yadda, you are eligeable to receive $7,500,000.00 USD due to an inheritance .. all you have to do is send $120.00 USD to .. >

So I wrote “Bryan” back and decided to act a little stupid..

Bryan,

I’m interested in following the instructions to collect, but I’m unclear as
to what you mean when you ask for my MTCN# ?  all I need to do is send $120?

Bryan wasted no time replying …

Upon the payment for the delivery of your atm we shall proceed
 
Note:What I meant by Mtcn (MONEY TRACKING CONTROL NUMBER)that would be given to you by the western union agent that will  help you send the payment across please kindly send a scan copy of the payment slip to me as soon as you make the payment  all you need is to pay the $120 for the delivery of your Atm Card and the next 48 hours your Atm Card is in your home town.

The gull of these people, I swear .. and the sad thing is that people ARE FALLING FOR THIS .. if they weren’t, then the scammers wouldn’t continue to do it …  so if you get something like this, don’t be a tard .. report it .. I don’t know that it will do any good, but it’s better than ignoring it I’m sure.
